The Joy of Life Restored.

“There are those who can live without wild things, and some who cannot”

— ALDO LEOPOLD

BUILD A LIFE AT SAND VALLEY

Welcome to Sand Valley, a golf resort and community settled gently upon 12,000 acres of rugged, prehistoric sand dunes in central Wisconsin. Here, residents and guests alike will find five world-class golf courses built in harmony with the land, friendly, welcoming hospitality, and a community of golf and outdoor enthusiasts drawn to the raw beauty and serenity of the vast Wisconsin Wilderness.

To build at Sand Valley is to settle gently within the natural landscape and preserve its inherent beauty and serenity. When you build at Sand Valley, you participate in a process that puts the land first and leaves minimal impact.

GOLF AS IT WAS MEANT TO BE

Golf as it was meant to be is at the heart of Sand Valley. The resort is home to Sand Valley (Coore & Crenshaw, No. 15 on Golfweek’s 2023 Top 100 Resort Courses list) and Mammoth Dunes (David McLay Kidd, No. 16 on Golfweek’s 2023 Top 100 Resort Courses list), along with the 17-hole short course, the Sandbox and, opening in 2024, Tom Doak’s heathland-inspired Sedge Valley. Adjacent to the resort is The Lido, a private club, open to those staying at the resort Sunday to Thursday. Among the most captivating stories in the game, The Lido is a detailed recreation of C.B. Macdonald’s lost Long Island gem.

  • Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw created a routing with massive and exposed sand dunes, firm and fast fairways, and a multitude of strategic playing options. Sand Valley is fun and playable, but can be set up to provide a serious challenge.

  • David McLay Kidd designed a journey around a majestic landscape, enormous fairways, big accessible greens, and visually-unique hillsides of exposed sand. Along the way, his design skews toward helping, which increases thrill and enjoyment.

  • C.B. Macdonald’s long-lost gem has been restored at Sand Valley by Tom Doak and the promise of Lido has intrigued many as one of the great lost wonders of the world. Golfers will be captivated by Lido’s demand for strategy and its bold design, including many classic templates such as the Alps, Redan, Punchbowl, and Eden. Open to those staying at the resort Sunday to Thursday

  • Designed by Coore & Crenshaw, The Sandbox plays through a restored sand prairie that sits within the same v-shaped sand ridge that frames Mammoth Dunes. The short course features the most unique green complexes on the property, including A Biarritz, Double Plateau, Lion’s Mouth, and A Redan.

  • Sedge Valley, designed by Tom Doak and inspired by the great heathland and links courses of London and the english coast, brings back a more intimate scale and classically styled holes. Golfers will encounter the timeless strategies and elements of courses that Doak believes have best withstood the endless advances of the game.

  • 12 Holes, , the same as the original routing at Prestwick, one of golf’s most revered layouts and host of the first 12 Open Championships. Architecture by Jim Craig.
